Works projects administration records 1930-1939.

Series documents the work of the Works Projects Administration (WPA) in its association with the Planning Board, mainly consisting of the provision of workers to conduct research and maintain clerical records. Records include correspondence, reports, bulletins, lists, proposals, legislation, and tables. Topics include a wide range of Planning Board activities since the WPA provided much of the staff necessary for completion of the research projects. Subjects about employment and migration, the Columbia River Gorge, the bonneville Dam, housing, and land classification are included primarily from funding and manpower perspectives. Most of the Records refer to the period from 1935 to 1938, however, some research information dates to 1930.
